Lieben Marelei is a celebration of art, craftsmanship, and the shared belief that beautiful, meaningful objects enrich everyday life.
Founded by an entrepreneurial spirit who has a strong belief in people and their talents, a shared believe in attention to detail, quality and enhancing peoples lives by creating opportunities to display their skills and talents which add value, appreciates the gift of life’s beauty and celebrating it in different art forms. Lieben Marelei began as a shared dream between two friends Ig Liebenberg and Chantell Hitge brought together by their love for art and creativity. What started as a dream has grown into a creative brand rooted in authenticity, intention, and a deep respect for handmade work.
Where we Get Our Name "Lieben Marelei" From
The name Lieben Marelei is of German origin and translates to love of art or artwork — a meaning that lies at the heart of everything we do. Each piece is created with care, reflecting a balance between artistic expression and thoughtful design.
Our collections include hand-built stoneware ceramics and original oil paintings, produced in small batches across various creative spaces. This approach allows the work to evolve naturally, drawing inspiration from different environments, materials, and moments in time. No two pieces are ever the same, and each carries its own quiet character and story.
